FAQs

Do you have a public tasting room?

At this time, we do not! While we'd love to host you for a tasting, we currently only invite our wine club members to private ranch events. Thanks for understanding!

Do you have a wine club I can join?

Yes! Two shipments a year, Fall and Spring, with three membership options depending on your preferences. We know people belong to multiple clubs, which is why we opted for 2x/year (we never want you to feel like you're drowning in wine). You can read all about it on our Wine Club page (look for the tab in our header)! If you have any questions, head here to see if any of our FAQs answer them. If not, feel free to reach out to us: coxfamilyvineyards@gmail.com

Can I find Boeket or JLC someplace other than your website?

We are currently working on finding homes in restaurants, wine bars, and small grocery stores across the state. If you would like to see us in your favorite places, please let the store manager know! Currently, you can find our wines in the following counties: Humboldt, Mendocino, Sonoma, Placer, Sutter, Butte, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

If I live locally, can I arrange a pick-up?

Absolutely! Rather than paying for shipping, you can arrange to pick up wine at our Ukiah ranch or have it delivered if you live in the Mendocino County (Greater Ukiah/Redwood Valley) area. Select the "Store Pick-Up" option during checkout. We will contact you with the email address/phone number you provide to coordinate a pick-up time. You will, of course, have to provide age verification (21+) at the time of pick-up.

How long does shipping usually take?

Shipping can take anywhere from 2-7 business days, depending on where you live and the carrier (we use UPS and GLS). The biggest delay is weather-related. We do not ship during heat waves and monitor the temps in your area, as well. This assures that your wine arrives safely! Please refer to our Shipping page at the bottom of our website for more information.

How much does shipping cost per bottle?

Factors such as the zip code you provide and how much wine you are purchasing go into the shipping cost. Sales tax is a separate cost. You can find this specific information by proceeding to checkout and imputing your personal information. As a general note, we would encourage placing orders larger than 1 bottle since it's not only more cost-effective (shipping tends to be the same price for 2+ bottles as it is for 1) but is also better for the environment to stock up instead of placing multiple orders of 1 wine throughout the calendar year.

Why do I need to sign for my wine order?

You must be 21 years of age or older to order or receive alcoholic beverages from Cox Family Vineyards. By placing your order online, you represent to us that you are at least 21 years of age and that the person receiving the wine is at least 21 years of age. Wine cannot be delivered to visibly intoxicated persons or those who are unable to provide age verification. In such circumstances, your order may be held at the shipping company’s local depot or shipped back to us. Customer is responsible for all associated costs.

Where can I leave reviews for your wines?

You can give us a review on Google or head to our Instagram page @coxfamilyvineyards/Facebook page and leave a comment if you liked our wine. Better yet, tag us on social media so we can shout you out and thank you for your support!

Do your wines contain sulfites?

Yes; however, they contain low amounts of sulfites. 50-70 PPM (parts per million) are added to keep our wines stable and preserve freshness! Our Boeket Blanc de Blancs, on the other hand, contains only naturally-occurring sulfites and is our fully CCOF-certified-organic wine.

Are your wines vegan-friendly?

They sure are! We do not fine our wines with egg whites or use any animal byproducts in our winemaking processes.

What is your winemaking philosophy?

We are lucky to work with a wine consultant and friend who values minimal intervention like us! We believe great wines are made in the vineyard, so we don't like to put too much of a handprint on ours at the winery. What this essentially means is that our wines don't have a ton of additives. We're most interested in letting the organic fruit, terroir, and vintage shine through in the glass. The result is wines of unique character and a certain purity of fruit you can taste.

  • Certified-Organic fruit

We're proud to be CCOF certified-organic. Our parents originally chose to farm this way because they wanted to give their daughters a safe, pesticide-free place to play. We are overjoyed that now, more than ever, wineries and wine consumers appreciate organic farmers' mission to farm with the future in mind.

  • Biodiversity

Many farmers chose to plant "border-to-border" but we are not your average farmer. We've only planted 10% of our ranch to vineyard, leaving the rest wild and untouched. Our vineyards are surrounded by woodland, grazeland, and reservoirs filled with wildlife. We also plant cover crops to promote soil health and encourage beneficial insects.

  • Family Farmers

Eighth generations of farming within our family and you best believe we're out in the vineyards working right alongside our crew. Whether we're driving a tractor, loading tanks onto the truck, making midnight coffee runs, or crop thinning, farming is a year-round team effort. Our dad alone has 45+ harvests under his belt!
